Eat & Drink

Rossland has an unusually good food scene for a town its size, with independent cafés, bakeries, pubs and restaurants within a few minutes of the inn.

For groceries, Ferraro Foods is exceptionally well stocked, including plenty of ingredients for guests who want to make use of the inn’s full kitchen.

Ski & Board

RED Mountain Resort is less than ten minutes from the inn, with renowned tree skiing, dry Interior BC snow and considerably fewer lift lines than you’ll find at many destination resorts.

For Nordic skiing, Black Jack Ski Club maintains an extensive trail network just outside town.

Bike & Golf

Rossland is surrounded by mountain-bike trails, from quick local rides to the legendary Seven Summits trail.

Redstone Resort is a scenic mountain golf course only a few minutes from the inn, with dramatic elevation changes and views across the valley.

RED Mountain, Beyond Skiing

RED Mountain offers more than downhill skiing. Depending on the season, you’ll find lessons, guided activities and other ways to explore the mountain and surrounding trails.

One of the pleasures of staying in Rossland is how much of the town is independent and locally owned.

Local Favourites

Rossland is small enough that favourite places quickly become part of your routine. We’re partial to B&T’s for food, Hooper’s for baked goods, Old School Furniture for obvious reasons, and the Saturday thrift store for the possibility of finding something we absolutely do not need. In summer, a few midday laps at the 1932 Rossland Pool, one of BC’s oldest operating outdoor pools, is hard to beat. And one of the best parts of living here is getting to know the local artists whose work turns up in studios, shops, exhibitions and community events all over town.

More to Explore

Rossland’s mining history is easy to explore at the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre and throughout the town’s heritage district.

There are also festivals, markets, arts events and community celebrations throughout the year, while the surrounding forests make wildlife sightings fairly ordinary. Deer and wild turkeys are regulars; bears and other wildlife are part of mountain life too.

Trail is about ten minutes down the hill for additional shopping, restaurants, theatre, hockey and walks along the Columbia River.
