Emerging Artists Residency

Lofty Goal Project

The 2027 Rossland Emerging Artist Residency is a two week residency in Rossland, BC, developed and facilitated by Lofty Goal Project. The residency hosts a cohort of three early emerging dance and/or theatre artists (early emerging is defined as 5 years or less out of post-secondary or equivalent training) to create new work. This year’s residency is set to run August 2 - 16, 2027.

Turkey Jam for the Arts: Canada Day

A Wild Turkey summer tradition of live music, good food, and raising money for local causes.

Turkey Jam brings together great local bands, friends, neighbours, food, and a few hundred feet of extension cord for an afternoon and evening in the gardens of The Wild Turkey Inn.

Our tradition is pretty simple: feed you, entertain you, and raise money for causes we care about.

We’re currently tossing around ideas for the next Turkey Jam. Future dates and details are still to come — whether that means another one soon or giving ourselves a little time to dream up something especially good.

What Turkey Jam looks like

Bring a blanket and settle in for an afternoon and evening of live music from great local bands.

All proceeds above costs support local arts organizations and Save Record Ridge.

Past Turkey Jams have included:

  • $20 entry → pasta bar + live music

  • Cash → fun ways to support the music

  • 50/50 art sale

  • Optional potluck → bring a side dish

  • Music from afternoon until late evening

Art Showcase at The Wild Turkey Inn

Columbia Basin Culture Tour

The Wild Turkey Inn was proud to be a venue for the 2026 Columbia Basin Culture Tour on August 8–9, bringing together local artists from Rossland, Trail, and the surrounding area.

Despite some smoky skies, more than 80 people came through the gardens and grounds over the weekend to see and purchase work from eight local artists working across painting, photography, ceramics, and botanical printmaking.

The event was created in partnership with Elise Tigges and Sharon Roberts, with the idea of creating something somewhere between an outdoor gallery and an artisan market — artwork tucked throughout the gardens, people wandering, talking with artists, and discovering work made right here in our community.

It turned out to be exactly that.

A big thank you to VISAC, RCAC, and the Rossland Arts Centre Society for providing easels, the artists who took part, to Elise and Sharon for helping bring it together, and to everyone who came out and made our first Culture Tour weekend at the Turkey such a success.
