The House

A large Victorian-style guest house with cream siding and red trim, surrounded by autumn trees with orange and green leaves, a stone foundation, a front porch with stairs, and a garden area.

Built in 1890 during the height of the Red Mountain gold rush, The Wild Turkey Inn was originally commissioned for J.S.C. Fraser — the first Bank of Montreal manager in Rossland and a relative of explorer Simon Fraser.

Constructed using the finest materials of its time, the home still showcases eleven-foot ceilings, soft fir floors, and beautifully detailed door casings that speak to the craftsmanship of the era.

More than a century later, Rossland has reinvented itself once again — now known as a Western Canadian hub for skiing, mountain biking, and year-round outdoor adventure. Staying at The Wild Turkey Inn offers a rare chance to experience both histories at once: the spirit of the old West, thoughtfully preserved, paired with the energy of a modern mountain town.

The Experience

The Wild Turkey Inn is designed to feel like a true home base — a place to return to after full days outside. Mornings begin with coffee in a quiet kitchen as plans take shape around the table. After time on the mountain or trails, your group comes back to a warm, comfortable home: cooking together, sharing long dinners, and settling into inviting spaces made for conversation and rest. With three private en-suite bedrooms and generous gathering areas, the house is well suited to families and groups who value time together as much as the adventures that bring them here.

Offered exclusively as a full-house stay, the inn provides a sense of privacy and ease that’s increasingly rare. It’s a historic home reserved entirely for your group — a place to slow down, spread out, and feel part of Rossland, whether you’re here for a ski week, a summer escape, or a special gathering.

Located just three blocks from downtown and less than ten minutes from RED Mountain Resort, The Wild Turkey Inn makes it easy to enjoy both town life and mountain adventure. No matter the season, the rhythm is the same: explore by day, then return to a comfortable, character-filled space that’s entirely your own.
