Public Health Safety Plan

Introduction

We know that cleanliness and hygiene are more important than ever, and we are committed to following all requirements of BC’s Provincial Health Officer. Our Public Health Safety Plan includes recommendations from the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) and WorkSafeBC. In addition, we are committed to adhering to Airbnb’s strict cleaning protocols.

Basic Precautions

In accordance with the requirements of BC’s Provincial Health Officer we would like to remind all guests to please stay home if you are ill. We have a very liberal cancellation policy to make this easier for you. If you need to cancel at the last minute, you will only be charged a cancellation and handling fee equal to 10% of the deposit.

At The Wild Turkey Inn, we are ready to adapt to public health recommendations…

Cleaning and disinfection

Our practices are in accordance with the BCCDC’s existing requirements regarding laundry, housekeeping, and food safety regulations.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Suspending mid-stay cleaning by staff; rather, you will be provided with recommended cleaning supplies.

  • If you require professional cleaning services, this can be arranged for an additional cost, and the cleaners will practice proper hygiene and physical distancing to ensure the safety of workers and guests.

  • Encouraging you to increase the frequency of cleaning and disinfection of high-traffic areas and high-use items, such as door knobs and handles, handrails, light switches, PIN pads, washrooms, and counters;

  • Cleaning all dishware and kitchen equipment in the suite and in the common kitchen between guests; and

  • Providing each guest room with a single sheet summary that is framed behind cleanable glass, and posting the house manual on our website so that it can be accessed via mobile devices.

Normal precautions and practices for cleaning guest rooms and laundering used linens and towels apply. Cleaning of guest rooms will be done upon check-out. Cleaning protocols include a thorough cleaning and disinfection of all hard surfaces. Special attention will be given to frequently touched items such as toilets, sinks, faucets, doorknobs, light switches, tablets, bar fridges, and garbage cans.

Engineering and maintenance

Non-urgent room maintenance will only be completed when a room is no longer occupied and has been cleaned thoroughly. If room maintenance is necessary when a room is occupied, workers will practice proper hygiene and physical distancing to ensure the safety of workers and guests. All shared tools and equipment will be cleaned and disinfected after each shift or when tools are transferred between workers.

Conclusion

As innkeepers, please rest assured that we are committed to remaining up to date on current public health concerns and to update our practices as necessary.
