Your hosts: Mike & Shauna

We are outdoor adventurers at heart and chose to move to Rossland in 2019 so that our skis, bike tires, dog paws, and lenses were closer to the mountains. We felt confident about our choice of towns but have been pleasantly surprised by just how remarkable it is here. The people smile and look you in the eye in a way that just doesn’t happen in the big city. The air is fresh, the nights are still, and you can see the stars.

Our personal living quarters are located in the back portion of the house, completely separate from the guest areas. Shauna is busy as a teacher down in Trail, and Mike balances his time between the inn, skiing/biking, dog walking, and helping out with carpentry jobs around town. Please know that we are happy to communicate with you as much or as little as you’d like during your stay.

Please be aware that we have two pet dogs on the premises. We have a fenced yard for them, and they will stay in our quarters while you are here. Their names are Eevee and Marlow. They may bark from behind their fence when they see you in the guest parking lot. They are friendly and would love to be pet endlessly if you’re up for it. We apologise in advance if the barking startles you.

Please Acknowledge

Many of you will come here to unplug. Our rooms do not come with TV, however, we do have a TV in the guest kitchen. We also offer complimentary wifi so that you can stream to your device and check in with the digital world at your discretion. We have many games, books, and puzzles on hand-on for your digital free pleasure.

Winter Wonderland

One of the reasons Red Mountain is so legendary amongst North America’s premier ski resorts is due to the incredible snowfall we receive here each winter. Be prepared to walk through snow drifts around town, and navigate the roads carefully from November to April. The snow plowers are like celebrities around here… they work so hard to keep all of our streets safe and passable. Our little inn is on a street which is cleared quickly, but if you arrive during or immediately after a snow storm, please take care while driving. Winter tires are required on highways in this region from October 1 to April 30.

Our Name

The name of our inn is truly locally inspired. When we first visited the property in late winter of 2018, we found the trees around the house filled with wild turkeys. We fell in love with them right away and feel they capture the same spirit of independence and good humour that we hope to evoke here at The Wild Turkey Inn.
